TRAI Raises Daily SMS Limit From 100 SMS Per Day To 200 SMS Per Day (News)

Mobile phone users will now be able to send 200 text messages a day as Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India (TRAI) has doubled the daily cap after it received representations from consumers and service providers to relax the limit.
"The authority has received representations from some of the service providers and consumers to increase the limit of 100 SMS per day per SIM. The authority has considered these representations and decided to increase the limit of one hundred SMS per day per SIM to two hundred SMS per day per SIM," TRAI said in a statement.

The new cap of 200 SMSes per SIM per day is effective from Tuesday, 1 November, 2011

Rahul, you have a very good point.
Most big tele-marketers don't use sim card to send sms ( or better, call it spam)
trsi should have made some law that even small marketers should not use sim cards for marketing sms.
