“Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai” contest RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. The show titled “Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai” (“Program”) is aired on STAR Plus (“Channel”) at 20:30 to 20:59 every Monday to Friday.
2. A contest “Best wishes for Maanvi & Viraat” (“Contest”) will be held on the program as per the Rules and Regulations stated below:
a) The contest shall commence from September 30, 2012 at 00:01 hours and shall conclude on October5, 2012 at 23:59 hours (“Period”).
b) The contest shall be held on two platforms, being:
(i) On-ground (to be held in specific locations in Delhi, UP & Maharashtra); and
(ii) Online platform ( i.e. on the website of channelswww.starplus.in and on Facebook page of Star Plus).
c) Participation: The viewer(s)/participant(s) will have to send their message/best wishes for Maanvi & Viraat who are getting married on the show. A viewer can participate in the On-Ground content by answering a simple question and writing their messages for Maanvi-Viraat on the message board. A viewer participating online will have to log on to channel website i.e. www.starplus.in or on Facebook page of Star Plus where he/she needs to answer a simple question and write in his/her message forMaanvi-Viraat and submit the same. A viewer who answers the question correctly, their messages will be considered by channel for the contest. Out of the selected messages, 5 best messages will be selected by Manavi and will get a chance to be on the sets of the Program to be a part of the wedding and get a chance to come on the sets.
d) Disclosures: All the participants (On Ground as well as Online) will have fill in all the required information, before participation. For On-Ground activity a form will be given to the participants and for Online star Plus or Facebook Star Plus page participation, such form will appear on the website and Facebook Star Plus page.
e) Travel and Accommodation: The Channel will only bear the travel and accommodation cost of the top 5 winners during their visit to the sets of the program on the wedding day other than that we will not be responsible towards any other cost incurred by the participants. The channel will only provide (Airways (Economy class) or Railways (3 tier AC) at the Channel’s sole discretion, 3 star hotel. All other expenses/cost, incidental, direct and/or indirect, incurred by the Contestant(s) shall be borne by the Contestant(s) himself/herself and in no manner whatsoever shall the Channel/STAR India, be responsible for the same.
The Winner shall be duly communicated within reasonable period about the dates of travel, accommodation, etc. A winner must confirm in writing his concurrence of his coming on the scheduled date within 2 days of receipt of aforementioned intimation failing such a winner would be deemed to be disqualified and person, who was next on the selection list selected byMaanvai, will be called upon and declared as winner.
f) Non-transferability: The opportunity to be on the sets ofthe Program to be a part of the wedding and get a chance to come on the sets, upon being selected, is personal and cannot be passed on or transferred to third parties.
General Rules
1. The Participant must be citizen of India, residing in India and above 18 years of age to qualify for the Contest.
2. The Participant should not have criminal conviction or an arrangement or a contract that prevents the Contestant(s) from participating in the Contest.
3. As a Proof of age, Participant must submit to the Channel/ STAR India Birth Certificate/10th Class leaving Certificate/School certificate/passport/an affidavit signed by a magistrate.
4. The Channel reserves all rights to make amendments to the existing rules without prior notice or withdraw the Contest without giving prior notice in connection thereto.
5. Non-conformance or breach of any terms of Rules & Regulations by any Participant and/or the Winner(s) of the rules of the Contest will disqualify them from participation or winnings, immediately, as the case may be.
6. The Winner(s) of the Contest agrees that he/she shall make himself/herself available from time to time and co-operate with the Channel and/or STAR India and participate in any activity and/or campaign (“Promotional Activity”) of any nature whatsoever without any money payable to the Winner(s). Further, the Winner(s) shall at no point of time refuse or disagree to participate in any such Promotional Activity for any reason whatsoever. The Winner(s) agrees that the footage of any nature with regard to the Winner(s) shall vest with STAR India
7. By participating in the Contest, it shall be construed that the Winner(s) of the Contest has agreed that the Winner(s) shall, at all times, hold harmless the Channel, STAR India, its employees, officers or any other person in relation to any injury/damage/harm/loss suffered by him/her in any manner, whatsoever, in connection with the contest or Prize or Reward and that the Winner(s) shall also not file in person and/or through any family member and/or third party any applications, criminal and/or civil proceedings in any courts or forum in India against the Channel and/or STAR India to claim any damages or reliefs or otherwise.
8. The Winner(s) agrees that if due to any reason, whatsoever, beyond the control of the Channel and/or STAR India, the Reward/Prize and/or anything in connection to the Reward/Prize and/or the enjoyment of the Reward/Prize becomes ineffective or invalid, the Channel and/or STAR India cannot be held responsible for the same.
9. The Channel and/or STAR India is in no manner whatsoever responsible and/or shall not be held liable in any manner whatsoever, for any injury, death, mental trauma caused to the Winner(s) in any manner whatsoever or for any reason whatsoever in connection to the Contest and/or Prize.
10. Any and all taxes and/or levies applicable under the laws of India shall be borne by the Winner(s) in relation to the reward/Prize.
11. In the event, the Winner is/are required to pay withholding tax and/or tax deductible at source under the Income Tax Act, 1961 under the laws of India in relation to the Prize, the Winner(s) shall furnish a copy of the receipt (challan) in relation to the withholding tax and/or tax deductible at source paid by the Winner(s).
12. Employees of the Channel, STAR India, and the members of their immediate family, persons with criminal convictions, persons other than citizens of India, are ineligible to enter the Contest.
13. Participation of the in the Contest shall be construed that theParticipant(s) agrees to all the decision(s) made by STAR India and/or the Channel-- that all such decisions shall be final and binding upon him.
14. STAR India and/or the Channel reserve the right to forfeit the Prize in the event it is found by STAR India and/or the Channel that any information provided by the Contestant(s) or the Winner(s) is wrong or any misrepresentation is made by the Contestant(s) or the Winner(s). STAR India or the Channel shall have the right to select other Participant(s) as the Winner(s) as per the Rules and Regulations.
15. The participation of the Contestant(s) in the Contest shall mean that the Contestant(s) has read, understood, accepted and agrees to abide with all the rules including the general rules of the Contest.
16. The Participant shall conform to the terms and conditions of access to the Facebook website.
17. The terms of this rules and regulations shall be construed in accordance with the laws of India and incase of any dispute or other matter arising in reference to the Contest shall be referred to a sole arbitrator appointed by STAR India and shall be governed by the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, amended from time to time. The venue for arbitration shall be Mumbai, in English language. All the costs, charges and expenses in connection to the Arbitration shall be solely borne by the Participant(s) who has raised the dispute.
18. Subject to rule 16, only the courts in Mumbai shall have the sole and exclusive jurisdiction to decide on any dispute relating to the Contest.
